Further studies instigated by my PhD research:
Ultimately, my PhD research will contribute to determining the availability and amount of food resources at specific locations.
The information generated can be used to characterise 'good' foraging locations and predict 'optimal' seabird habitat as well as the oceanographic or environmental conditions that determine how much and whether food is available to upper level predators. This can then be taken used to determine how climate-driven variations may affect these limited and essential food supplies for seabirds of the GBR.
We can also investigate impacts of variation in food supplies to rerpoductive success, condition and survivorship of seabird populations.
