PRIMARY RESEARCH/WORK INTERESTS:
Climate-driven impacts are an urgent issue affecting the world’s marine and terrestrial ecosystems. Global biodiversity faces numerous threats, many of which are caused by the burgeoning human population.
Natural and anthropogenic processes including climate-variation, pollutants, deleterious removal (fisheries, poaching, hunting etc), habitat loss
detrimentally affect essential resources (prey items/food supplies and habitat) and drive the loss of species and ecosystems.
It is essential to address these threats immediately and decisively with robust multi-discilinary research that brings together a wealth of knowledge from many fields of science. I personally, am greatly interested in participating in strong collaborations to this end.
But this is not enough to halt the negative impacts. I am very interested in broadening the sphere of knowledge and bringing well-thought out science into the public realm through disseminating easily understood information and community interaction and engagement through 'citizen science'.
